REDCOM to Raise Awareness for Hillside in Continental Tire Challenge

Racing Event on September 17 at Mid-Ohio Raceway to be televised September 25 on SPEED.

Victor, New York (September 8, 2011) – REDCOM Laboratories Inc., a company that designs and manufactures the world’s most reliable interoperable telecommunications systems for civilian and DoD applications, announced today that it is sponsoring the BERG Racing Porsche in the EMCO Gears Classic Continental Tire Challenge at Mid-Ohio Raceway on September 17, 2011. The car will be driven by drivers John Weisberg (BERG Racing) and Jason Holehouse. This event will be televised on SPEED on September 25, 2011, at 12 pm ET.

In addition to competing in the Continental Tire Challenge, this entry is intended to raise funds for Hillside Children’s Center in Rochester, NY. Hillside Children’s Center has served youth with emotional, behavioral, and mental challenges for 174 years. These services include therapeutic foster care, adoption, residential, day treatment, juvenile justice, developmental disabilities, independent living, and school-based services.

In conjunction with REDCOM, Monticello Motor Club, North America’s Premier Automotive Resort and Private Race Track, and Solar Stik, a manufacturer of solar-powered portable power generation systems, are sponsoring the entry.
“Our company is proud to be a sponsor of this racing effort and to have our company logo appear side by side on the car with Hillside Children’s Center logo,” said Klaus Gueldenpfennig, President, REDCOM. “Hillside does tremendous work in our community and I urge you to provide your generous support to this fundraising effort. Every dollar counts and will have a positive impact on the lives of children in our area who are in need of your assistance.”

“The funds raised via this effort enable us to give our children and families the ‘little extras’ that are often missing in their lives,” said Tom Hildebrandt, President of Hillside Children’s Foundation. “We are also grateful to our partners at BERG Racing and REDCOM for the prominent placement of Hillside in the race. Awareness of the services we provide across Central and Western New York and in Maryland helps many new ‘fans’ understand and appreciate our impact on the lives of families in crisis.”

Contributions can be made at the online pledge site, here. The site will calculate the number of laps completed, multiplied by the dollar amount pledged. All of the proceeds will go to Hillside Children’s Center. Pledges can also be made by calling (585) 256-7660.
